€ 695
incl. VAT (if applicable) according to margin schemeLarge Van Nelle tin designed by Jac Jongert for the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam in 1933. The lid reads in large letters: Van Nelle for Coffee and Tea in the colours: red, blue, yellow, white and grey. The metal tin was produced in the 1930s and 1950s by Bekkers, Dordt / De Erven de Wed. J. van Nelle NV. / Van Nelle, Rotterdam. The company was distinguished by their modern and progressive approach; the image with which Van Nelle wanted to distinguish itself. Jacob Jongert (1883-1942) was in charge of Van Nelle’s advertising department from 1923 to 1940, where he designed the famous designs for the packaging of tea, coffee and tobacco. The condition is still good with normal signs of use; no cracks and/or holes (see photos). This tin is also in the collection of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. Dimensions: h x w x d = 37.5 x 41.5 x 28 cm.
