Rare Pendant model 591 K40 by Kandem, 1920s
Rare Kandem hanging lamp model 591 K40 designed by Kandem in 1924 and made until 1933. The largest part of the light of this lamp goes to the top and is reflected by the wall and the ceiling. Max Körting (1862-1948) and Wilhelm Mathiesen (1859-1936) founded the company Körting & Mathiesen, Lepzig in 1889. The brand name “KANDEM” is adopted in 1914. In the lamp is a normal E27 bulp holder, 200 W max. Material: the chain and the frame are copper-brown galvanized. The chalice is of matt clear glass and opal (white) glass. Marked: Kandem (see photo). Dimensions: h x w x d = 47 x 27 x 27 cm. Total height with chain 147 cm.
