Floor Lamp ST84 by Johan Niegeman for Artiforte, 1957 – First Edition, White-Grey, Modernist Design

Artiforte floor lamp Niegeman, model ST84, was designed in 1957 by Johan Niegeman (1902–1977) for the Rotterdam-based brand Artiforte. This first edition from the 1950s is finished in white and light grey powder-coated metal with a black metal base and is regarded as a prime example of modernist lighting design. Each piece was handcrafted and, at the time, this was one of Artiforte’s most expensive lamps, produced in very small numbers. The design was highly innovative and received awards at the Triennale in Milan (1957) and the World Expo in Brussels (1958). The perspex diffuser emits a warm and even light. Depending on how it’s positioned, it provides either indirect light against the wall or direct light through the diffuser. Dimensions: h × w × d = 162 × 11 × 25 cm. Materials: metal, perspex. The lamp is in very good original condition, with only minor signs of use on the base, appropriate for its age. The original fluorescent tube has been replaced with an energy-efficient Philips LED tube (T8 CorePro 15.5 W/830) in a warm tone. The original TL tube is included if desired. The wiring has been checked. This rare piece is part of the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and is considered a true collector’s item.

10% DISCOUNT AT PICKUP When you choose to collect your order, you get a 10% discount, because it saves us packing and shipping. Another advantage is that you can inspect your purchase in real life and take the item with you when you like it. Most of the time we are in the store. Please let us know in advance on the order form, email or telephone. On Friday and Saturday between 13:30 and 17:00 we are in the warehouse. Check our website for exceptions. Once we know that you will visit, we reserve your purchase, usually three days. Please let us know if you want us to keep the item for a longer period of time. If you have specific wishes regarding the delivery of bigger items, like express delivery of the second floor, it is possible that we quote additional costs. MARGIN SCHEME, VAT AND EXPORT
All prices in the webshop are in euros and include VAT (where applicable). Ztijl normally applies the margin scheme. This is a special VAT regulation that applies, among other things, to used goods. Under this scheme VAT is included in the price but is not stated separately on the invoice.
For private and business customers outside the European Union we use the same prices. As compensation we do not charge additional payment or handling fees.
Do you have a business with the right to reclaim VAT? In that case we can provide a quotation or invoice with regular VAT on request. For businesses within the EU (but outside the Netherlands) we can issue an invoice with 0% VAT when a valid VAT number is provided. An intra-Community supply is generally only possible when the item is shipped.
