A solid wooden frame made of beech wood in a more luxurious version from the sixties with a seat and back shell made of bent plywood with teak veneer. Ever since 1946, Egon Eiermann has been thinking about designing a folding chair. The demands of Eiermann’s folding chair were high. The result in 1953 was a folding chair with a solid construction and a minimalist design. Now a design classic that has been awarded with various prizes, including the “Good Design Award” from the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
