HALA

Hala Zeist was founded by Herman Theodoor Jan Anthoin Busquet in 1932 and belonged to the better lighting stores in the Netherlands. Hala started out as an importer of German lamps from the Hannoversche Lampenfabrik. That is also where the name Hala comes from. In addition to being a director, Busquet was also an industrial designer and designed various lamps for Hala. Some of the Hala classics are the “Hala 144” desk lamp, the lamps from the “Sun series” and the Hala “Pinocchio” lamp. H.T.J.A. Busquet (1914-1977) worked at Hala until 1955.
