Long Chair by Marcel Breuer for Knoll. Marcel Breuer (1902-1981) designed this chaise longue (in the Bauhaus period) to fit the human body in 1935/36 for Isokon, an English company. It is one of the first chairs to be made from bent wood. A wonderful design that was ahead of its time. Source: book Marcel Breuer, Taschen, page 133.
This vintage version is made at Knoll in the ‘7o. This chair is upholstered with green (according to the first owner) Swiss fabric, 100% wool and the frame is made of laminated birch wood, painted black (original). Considering it’s age this chair is still in very good condition, some minor wear (little paint damage) behind the legs (see more photos). Dimensions: H x W x D = 80.5 x 61.5 x 136 cm.
