Rare wall coat rack GW1 “tone ladder” designed by Coen de Vries and manufactured by DEVO (Denhaag) in 1954. This coat rack was originally designed by Coen de Vries on the basis of a doorway for a house in Weesp. This is the first version of this coat rack with round tubular frame and clothes hooks made of curved plasticized wire. Later Tjerk Reyenga made a modified version in various dimensions and with flat metal hooks and a square tube frame for the company Pilastro. This coat rack is mounted to the wall with four screws and is more rare because of the original hat rack which was an extra option in the time. The name “tone Ladder” speaks for itself, with curved metal hooks (music “notes”) in the colors yellow and red.
Dimensions: h x w x d = 200 x 74 x 25 cm
Material: The frame is made of iron and the hooks of iron colored with plastic material around it.
Color: black, red and yellow
Condition: good, wear consistent with age and use / some discoloration of the coat hooks.
