Rare yellow Panama wall lamp model no. 4050 by Wim Rietveld for Gispen in 1956. The lamp has three hinges, so it can be put in different positions (with the red key, attached to the wall plate). The hood is yellow and has the shape of a hat, and is therefore also called panama hat. Material: square steel tubing, painted steel, painted aluminum and polyester. Dimensions: diameter shade 40,5 cm, length arm including wallboard 100 cm. Colors: gray, yellow, red, white and black. This lamp is included in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Source: book collection Gispen, NAI Publishers, page 123 and Gispen catalog Giso lamps No. 37 (1957)..
Given the age of the lamp, it is still in original and good condition, some traces of use to the paint (along the edge of the hood, see photos). This Gispen lamp is fully serviced by us and also the wiring has been checked by an electrician. The lamp has a new diffuser cover (designed by A. R. Cordemeyer). The original wall plate and the red adjusting key are still present.
