Luzette pendant lamp S&S L1510 by W. Wissmann for Siemens & Schuckert, ca. 1920s

The Luzette L1510 pendant lamp by Siemens & Schuckert was designed by W. Wissmann around 1921. This early example from the first generation of the Luzette series combines hand-blown opaline glass with satin glass to create a soft, evenly diffused light. A slender metal clamping ring holds both glass elements together, emphasising the functional, industrial character of this early 1920s design.
The lamp consists of two separate glass components made from different types of glass: an upper shade in satin glass (L1509) and a lower bowl in opaline glass (L1510). The satin glass of the upper element softens the light source, while the opaline lower shade distributes the light evenly downwards. Both parts are hand-blown and secured with a metal band fitted with brass set screws.
The S&S monogram is visible in both glass elements, and the model number L1510 can still be read in the lower shade. The letter “L” stands for Leuchte (lamp), while the number refers to the specific lower shade type within the Luzette series. Executed in glass, copper, brass and metal. The pendant lamp remains in good condition, with visible patina on the metal consistent with its age. The glass components are intact. The wiring and socket have been renewed by a professional electrician and the current socket is earthed. The original socket has been preserved and can be supplied if desired. The ceiling canopy is not original.

10% DISCOUNT AT PICKUP When you choose to collect your order, you get a 10% discount, because it saves us packing and shipping. Another advantage is that you can inspect your purchase in real life and take the item with you when you like it. Most of the time we are in the store. Please let us know in advance on the order form, email or telephone. On Friday and Saturday between 13:30 and 17:00 we are in the warehouse. Check our website for exceptions. Once we know that you will visit, we reserve your purchase, usually three days. Please let us know if you want us to keep the item for a longer period of time. FREE SHIPMENT WITHIN THE NETHERLANDS AND TO ANTWERP, BRUSSELS, PARIS and BERLIN Shipment is for free within the Netherlands and to Antwerp, Brussels, Paris and Berlin. Postal packages within the EU are included in the webshop prices as well. If the items you choose are too big for a postal package, we can make you a custom quote. That is also the case for shipment outside the EU, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs will be calculated during the ordering process in our webshop. If the shipping costs can't be calculated online (yet), you can choose to request a custom quote. We will let you know the shipping costs as soon as possible. If you have specific wishes regarding the delivery of bigger items, like express delivery of the second floor, it is possible that we quote additional costs. If you might not be satisfied with your purchase, you will receive a full refund, but the return costs are for your account. Return within 14 days of receipt.
MARGIN SCHEME, VAT AND EXPORT
All prices in the webshop are in euros and include VAT (where applicable). Ztijl normally applies the margin scheme. This is a special VAT regulation that applies, among other things, to used goods. Under this scheme VAT is included in the price but is not stated separately on the invoice.
For private and business customers outside the European Union we use the same prices. As compensation we do not charge additional payment or handling fees.
Do you have a business with the right to reclaim VAT? In that case we can provide a quotation or invoice with regular VAT on request. For businesses within the EU (but outside the Netherlands) we can issue an invoice with 0% VAT when a valid VAT number is provided. An intra-Community supply is generally only possible when the item is shipped.
