This distinctive beech wood chair has a curved back, molded seats and molded solid wood armrests. The condition of this vintage chair is still good and original; no breaks and/or defects and a nice patina (see photos). The seating comfort of this chair is good. Dimensions: h x w x d = 85 x 63 x 52 cm. The seat height is 48,5 cm and the height of the armrests is 72 cm. Under the seat marked with Czechoslovakian label with “Thon” which stands for Thonet and the model number 1515 (see photos). Oswald Heardtl was a famous architect, designer, teacher (head of architecture). He had studied under Kolo Moser and went to Josef Hoffmann’s master class where he soon became his assistant. Among other things, he designed for the World’s Fair in Brussels in 1935 and Paris in 1937. His classes, architectural projects and international connections had a lasting influence on postwar modernism.
