Sideboard with top cabinet and bar designed by A.A. Patijn for the Dutch furniture factory Zijlstra, 1950s. This sideboard with round side is from the Poly-Z series. The round shapes are very characteristic in the designs of A.A. Patijn. This sideboard has a bar, four dust-free drawers (with round sides, just like Cees Braakman) for easy cleaning, a bookcase and two storage cabinets at the bottom right. The condition is still very good and original condition with light traces of age and use. Material: Wood, veneer, walnut, glass and brass. Dimensions: h x w x d = 130 x 204 x 44 cm. Height sideboard (without top cabinet) 74 cm. Source: monthly magazine Ons Huis 1958, page 862 to 866 and Taschen, 1950s, decorative art, page 228 and page 250. Nice to know: A.A. Patijn, also designed the KLM restaurant De wide view on Schiphol in 1953 and the KLM hotel Biak in New Guinea (design and furnishing) in 1955.
