Lamperti Robbiate
Lamperti is an Italian lighting manufacturer founded in 1929 near Milan. The brand gained recognition for its lighting designs from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, experimenting with materials such as perspex and methacrylate combined with metal and technical height-adjustment mechanisms. Designs from this period align with the Space Age movement and Italian modernism.
Within Lamperti, the internal design team Des-in Line played an important role. Designers associated with this team included Ico Parisi, Alberto Podestà, Amaldi Ferrari Gozzini and Enrico Radaelli. The collaboration between designers and manufacturer resulted in functional yet distinctive lighting fixtures in which technology and form are carefully balanced.
Lamperti lamps from the second half of the twentieth century are valued today for their material use, light diffusion and recognizable formal language. They represent Italian lighting design from this period.
