Ztijl Quality Check
At Ztijl we have over 20 years of experience with buying and restoring furniture. We maintain a professional workshop in which we overhaul each piece before adding it to our store. Once the item enters our workshop, it’s construction and moving parts are checked. When necessary we replace worn parts. Lamps are always checked by a professional electrician according to the standards of the manufacturing period.

STorage and knowledge
We carry an extensive stock of vintage parts. During the restauration process we research and use our library literature to restore the pieces as close as possible to original condition, just as it was when it left the factory.
- Poor connections are repaired and worn parts are replaced.
- Lamps are inspected by a professional electrician according to the standards of the manufacturing period.
- Wiring is replaced by a profession electrician if necessary.
authentic stories
Many of our items are over half a century old. Therefore, signs of use may be visible and some fading may occur. This gives an item character and tells an authentic story. During the restauration process we always have the option to execute a partial or full restauration.
- A partial restauration means that with a cabinet for instance we only sand the top, without damaging the veneer. After which the cabinet gets a fresh layer of varnish.
- When chairs are re-upholstered, pillows are restuffed or renewed. We work with professional re-upholsterers using quality materials.
