Bauhaus Wall Lamp of Copper and Brass by KANDEM Leipzig, Germany in about 1934.
Rare adjustable Bauhaus wall lamp in copper and brass made for KANDEM Leipzig, Germany in about 1934. Presumably this is a luxury version or prototype of this particular workbench lamp. A striking feature of this lamp is that the cap is made of copper (normally they are made of aluminum), and the arm is made of brass (normally this is made of iron). This model Nr. 971 is made until 1939. The diameter of the cap is 140 mm (middle size as stated in the KANDEM book). Dimensions: l x d (cap) = 100 x 14 cm. The short arm is 30 cm and the longer arm is 56 cm. The dimensions of the foot are h x w x d = 3 x 8,3 x 9,1 cm. Given the age of the Bauhaus lamp it is still in very good condition. The switch on the cap is replaced with a cord switch. The wiring has been checked and the lamp is polished. Source: Bauhausleuchten Kandemlicht book, page 141.
