Globe Transistor Six Radio NTR-6G by Fleedwood, Japan 1960s
Rare globe transistor six radio (model” NTR-6G) made at Fleewood in Japan around 1960. The globe is made of a gold and silver coloured Plexiglas map with images of seas and continents. The speaker is facing down and the sound comes from the openings in the south pole. There is a slider tuner control for the (MW 540 -1600 HZ) radio stations from the north to the south pole. The black knob on the North Pole is the power / volume control. In the base is place for 6 AA batteries (6 x 1.5V = 9V). This radio is hard to find in working condition. In the black (Bakelite) base there is a connection for the headphone. Considering its age in good and in working condition (as in the pictures). A nice collector’s object in working condition from the space era. Not suitable for daily use. Marked: Fleedwood Transistor Six. Condition: good, wear consistent with age and use; small hair crack in the globe and base (see pictures), label on the foot is missing (see photos).
