Minerva Sofa by Hvidt & Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Søn, 1950s
Danish Minerva three-seater with armrests designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Søn in 1956. This is the rare version with armrests, made in the 1960s. This couch is entirely made of solid teak wood, with green upholstery and pillows of the same fabric. Considering its age still in good condition. A few years ago, this sofa has been re-upholstered, and the fabric still looks nice, no holes and / or damage, some discoloration (see photos). Dimensions: h x w x d = 81 x 204 x 77 cm and the seat height is 42 cm. Marked: with France & Son logo, FF (see photos). Source: book Scandinavian modern Furniture 1930 – 1970, page 69.
