Rare U.S. Army chairs designed in 1944. These chairs where originally designed for Military Navy ships. The US Navy contract stated that the chair had to withstand a torpedo blast from the side of the ship. These chairs are made in 1961 (marked) +/- 52 years old. The seat height is 46 cm. This type of chair was also the basis of a new line of furniture designed by French designer Philippe Starck. Considering the age of these chairs in good but used condition, some traces of usage and wear (two chairs have cracks in the upholstery). This vintage chair is out of production since 1970.
