Aksel Bender Madsen for Bovenkamp three seater sofa designed by the Danish designer Aksel Bender Madsen for the Dutch furniture company Bovenkamp in the early ’60s. This sofa has a beautifull organic sculptural frame with curved wood behind the back. This Bovenkamp “three-seater sofa” is considering its age in excellent condition. This sofa has been completely re-upholstered with new foam and new Ploeg fabric. The frame has been checked and oiled again. The organic design is special because of the two-tone wood use, oak and teak. The seat height is 41 cm and the seat depth is 44 cm. Marked: Bovenkamp. The sofa has a very good (lumber support) comfort. Colours: brown and green. The price is only for the sofa, not the chairs.
Aksel Bender Madsen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He worked with architects Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen. During his studies he met Ejner Larsen. In 1947 they established a design studio together. Together they designed more than 300 timeless design classics.
