The Dutch company Artimeta began after the war with the design and manufacture of furniture and lamps in a new style. Artimeta originated in Limburg, where miners who could no longer work in the mines continued working in social workplaces. The factory itself only existed shortly and Artimeta became a company that mainly imported luxury lighting fixtures. Well-known designers of Artimeta are Floris H. Fiedeldij and the famous French designer Mategot. They designed and made furniture, lighting fixtures and objects with slim shapes, often of wire structures or perforated iron. At the start of the seventies, the factory settled in Oirschot.
